SOCIETY: A Poem

This work was originally written as a poem by the artist. Click here if you would like to hear the musical version.

Hopeless & jaded

Creativness faded

Still wide awake but

my empathy’s wasted

What more could I want

With abundance of faces

To laugh at

To pray to

But still I feel shaded

Is this how it all works?

It’s really outdated

work til you die & the industry thanks it

“You’re doing so well”

To get a gold star

We won’t pay you much

But keep working hard

“Give a little bit more”

then surly you’ll make it

Beware cause your boss

already forbade it

Is this what we want?

dystopian nation

Now get back to work

And Never forsake it

God oh my god

How The system is broken

We pray to a god that can’t be outspoken

If this is his will

If this is his way

How could you believe

that the suffering made

Can never be wrong

Then oh what a shame, kid

The promise of love

continues to break and

don’t get me wrong

Believe what you may

The problem I see that

Is our big mistake

Relying on those

Who drown in their faith

They reap what they sow

So results complicate it

With Property, growth,

Interest by the bank

And Racist foundation for history’s sake

And the Female commodity,

Laws for her body

No good for the office

lest she greets the lobby

And The price that we pay

For minimum wage

Society is fucked

until we get all get a say

So Stand up for your own

Or You’re kidding yourself

Thinking you sit on the 1% shelf

Make few a mil and

then we can talk

But now you’re just voting

against your own cause

They want you to think

That you’re one of them

But to tell you a secret

They don’t want you in

I know it’s upsetting

You’re down the wrong road but

they want you that way

to buy all your votes

So Love one another

Be humble, be sober

The system will change

Cause united, it’s over
